We are one of the first in the industry to introduce a quality management system meeting the EN ISO 9001 standards, which in 2001 is integrated with the environmental management system as per EN ISO 14001.

The steel mill in HUTA POKÓJ is shut down, after 101 years of working.

We create a new department for cold-formed profiles – Stalprofile Plant.

We start production of welded profiles. Nowadays they look like at this picture.

We start running the thick plate rolling mill.


1946

After the merger with Łabędy and Gliwice steelworks, HUTA POKÓJ is the largest metallurgical company in Poland. The employment level is around 8,000 workers.


1934

The Republic of Poland’s Treasury buys 52% of the company shares. The famous Polish inventor Tadeusz Sendzimir starts a mill of his own invention in HUTA POKÓJ, which is a breakthrough in the technology of rolling.


1930

The HUTA POKÓJ Śląskie Zakłady Górniczo-Hutnicze S.A. (The HUTA POKÓJ Silesian Mining and Metallurgical Works S.A.) Concern is created based in Katowice. It consists, amongst others, of several steelworks (including for example, Baildon and Ferrum), four coal mines, ore and dolomite mines, a power plant, factories producing machines, steam boilers and wagons, a castings factory, …


1929

The company has already owned the Baildon steelworks, the Pokój coal mine, and iron ore mines in Tarnowskie Góry, in Hungary and Slovakia. It also acquires shares of the Ferrum steelworks as well as the Wirek coal mine.


1913

Friedenshütte owns i.a. Bessemer plant, open-hearth plant, six blast furnaces, all kinds of rolling mills, power plant, ore sintering plant and construction workshop. There are already 5743 people employed.
