Cold-formed sections

COLD-FORMED SECTIONS

Thanks to their high quality and precision, cold-formed steel sections are mainly used in lighter steel structures, where they can be used in place of hot-rolled sections with great success. Our offer includes closed sections (round, rectangular, square) and open sections (angles, channels), as well as a whole range of special sections. Profiles are made as standard (depending on the type) from constructional steel S235JR, S355J2 or by agreement with the customer from other steel grades.

OUR ADVANTAGES

Our extensive technological background allows us to customise or provide specialised equipment so as to start production according to the customer’s specific needs in the shortest possible time. This type of service, of course, requires detailed prior technological arrangements.
We offer the possibility of accurately adapting the length of sections to the customer’s requirements. We provide a guarantee of manufacturing quality and precision (e.g. possibility of supplying products with tighter dimensional tolerances).

EXAMPLES OF APPLICATIONS OF OUR PRODUCTS

  • building industry (e.g. light hall constructions, bidding rafters, fencing systems, gates, greenhouse constructions, scaffolding);
  • car industry (e.g. linked trailer, semi-trailer and truck elements);
  • power industry (e.g. electricity pylons);
  • telecommunications industry (e.g. radio and mobile phone masts, relays, antennae, cables);
  • machine industry (e.g. agricultural and construction machinery);
  • logistics and warehousing (e.g. high storage systems, fittings for large retail areas and petrol stations);
  • Infrastructure and transport (e.g. road barriers elements and sound-proof screens elements);
  • defence industry (e.g. vehicle structural components).

CONDITIONS OF IMPLEMENTATION

FORM OF DELIVERY

Our products are prepared for shipping in the form of bundles of up to 4 Mg, bound with a steel band, depending on customer requirements.

MARKING

Bundles of sections are labelled with tags indicating the following details:

  • manufacturer’s name,
  • steel grade,
  • melt number,
  • dimensions of sections,
  • length of sections,
  • bundle weight,
  • controller number,
  • for construction products, the CE mark and other parameters of use and properties in accordance with the guidelines of the construction products act.

ADDITIONAL SECTIONS DESIGN OPTIONS

  • precise cutting at the angle 90°:
    • length of sections 800 ÷ 7 000 mm,
    • cut at the angle 90° ± 0,5°,
    • cut length tolerances:
      • for length 800 ÷ 4 000 mm : ± 1,0 mm,
      • for length 4 000 ÷ 7 000 mm : ± 1,5 mm,
  • precise cutting at the angle other than 90°:
    • length of sections 1 000 ÷ 4 000 mm,
    • cut at the angle 30° ÷ 90° : ± 1°,
    • cut length tolerances ± 1,0 mm,
  • packing according to individual demands,
  • removing of internal flash,
  • marking of sections using a stamping system.

ADDITIONAL LABORATORY TESTS

  • analysis of the chemical composition of the material,
  • ultrasonic, penetrant, magnetic particle testing and visual inspections,
  • Brinell, Vickers or Rockwell hardness testing,
  • longitudinal and transverse bending test,
  • impact testing at temperatures other than those specified in the grade standard: 20°C ÷ (-60)°C,
  • macroscopic examinations.
