To contribute to air protection, in the recent years, we have implemented a number
of ecological projects. By implementing them we have succeeded in reducing harmful
effects of installations located on the premises of HUTA POKÓJ group on the environment.
This is achieved mainly by:
- using local sources of heat,
- using “purer” fuel
- automation of heating equipment control,
- increasing efficiency of heating equipment,
- minimising transfer loss,
- installation of in-process air protection facilities.
HUTA POKÓJ S.A. is prepared to supply the blast furnace system with heat energy
from Boiler Plant I and II that can be fired with three types of fuelnatural gas,
coal and blast furnace gas. The other facilities have their local gas-fired sources
of heat.
The emission into air is typical for combusting fuels in power industry and involves
the following dust and gas pollution CO2, NOx, CO, SO2,
dust.
In 1998, we commenced the implementation of the heat supply modernization project.
The modernization of the heating system was carried out according to the schedule:
I stage
Demolition of steam heating system supplied by the Boiler Plant I and II for the
most remote facilities on the premises of the company:
- Welded Sections
Department Hall and Vessel Department Hall
- 4 gas-fired boilers for central heating and hot water
supply,
- 42 air heaters in productions halls,

Production halls and the Railway Department
social and office building
- 2 gas-fired boilers for central heating and hot water
supply,
- 7 heating and ventilation units for heating the halls.
II stage
Demolition of steam heating system supplied by the Boiler Plant I and II for Stalprofile
plant.
Instead, construction of the following heating equipment:
- Stalprofile
plant
5 gas-fired boilers for central heating and hot water supply,
7 heating and ventilation units in production halls.
III stage
Demolition of steam heating system supplied by the Boiler Plant I and II for HUTA
POKÓJ Management building and residential buildings at Haller St:the modernization
involved connection of the above-mentioned building to the municipal heating network.
IV stage
Demolition of steam heating system supplied by the Boiler Plant I and II for halls
and building of Euroserwis Sp. z o.o., Power Energy and Electrical Department, the
building at Gate I, Technical Management building and DKJ building:
local, gas-fired boilers were installed for the above buildings, for central heating
and hot water supply, and for production hallsgas-fired air heaters, hot air supply
units and ceramic radiators were installed.
Along with the investment process relating to the heating system modernization,
the thermal insulation of buildings is being constantly improved.This involves thermal
insulation of buildings, installation of shutter doors, replacement of windows and
installation of air curtains in the entrances to production halls.
